Pediatric Dentistry: Never too Early for a Fabulous Smile

In our family dentistry office, our objective is to keep our patients in excellent oral health.  With children, we also have a secondary goal.  We want to create a positive experience and association for them so that as they grow into adulthood they will want to visit the dentist, rather than feel anxiety. As a dentist in Vero Beach, our entire staff is focused on creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere so that your child can make that positive association.  We will often take the first couple of appointments to get to know your child and let them get to know us.  This means that we may examine their teeth on one visit and clean them the next. As a pediatric dentistry office, we will let them set the pace so that trust is established.  We can then clean their teeth, examine them, and look for any signs of cavities or gum disease.

In our family dentistry office, we encourage parents to bring children to our office for a teeth cleaning twice a year.  Children naturally have a more difficult time keeping their teeth clean.  When they are young, they typically do not want to hold still long enough for a proper brushing and flossing and, as they age, they tend to rush through the process.  This can lead to a buildup of plaque and an increased risk for cavities.  We can clean their teeth in our pediatric dentistry office in order to reduce their risk for developing oral health problems.  We will also give them a fluoride treatment which has been proven to reduce their risk of developing cavities by 30 percent.  This is important because the Center for Disease Control has listed cavities as the number one commonly occurring infectious disease among children.  Oral health problems represent missed days from school and significant discomfort for children throughout the country. Your child does not have to experience this discomfort.  In fact, regular pediatric dentistry visits will help to prevent it.  If, however, they do experience a sudden toothache or chip their tooth, we are an emergency dentist and can treat them right away.

For the adults in the family, we are a cosmetic dentistry office that provides dental implants in Vero Beach, FL.  As an implant dentist in Vero Beach, FL, we can ensure that the procedure is completed in a manner that is relaxing and comfortable.  We are also a teeth whitening dentist in Vero Beach and a root canal dentist in Vero Beach if you need assistance with the appearance or health of your teeth. For more information, call (772) 778-0954 to schedule an appointment.
